The Medifast Diet Review: By: Shawntel There are so many Diets out there which one do you choose? When it comes down to it, it is the calories that count. If you limit yourself to 1200 calories per day, no matter where those calories come from, you will lose weight. However for many of us counting calories is a time consuming processes, it is just mind boggeling at times. Most of us count calories for about a week and then give up. We have to many other things to do. So, will we never lose weight, because we can‘t count calories? Will we be unhappy with our current weight forever? No! there are many other options out there for those of us who don’t have times to count calories. I am planning on looking at and reviewing a number of diets over the next little while, so you can be well informed about your dieting possiblities. I have looked at many different diets and many who offer all types of promises. The diet I will tell you about today is affordable. It is the Medifast Diet. This diet has been researched by the famous John Hopkins School of Medicine to study the efficiency of this diet and the found on average Males lost 67 lbs on this diet and females lost 47. I was amazed to see how effective of a diet this is. Some of the best diets out there the average weight loss is only 12 - 20 lbs. First I have to say you can do the same thing with our calorie counting software (www.caloriebalancediet.com) that this diet does, but you would have to be willing to put some time into it and figure out a system for yourself. For those not willing to do it, the Medifast system is simple. You will eat 6 times per day. 5 pre-prepared items from Medifast and 1 high protein and green vegetable meal which you will prepare yourself. Medifast has all the calories and portions figured out. You don’t have to weigh or measure or count calories. In comparison to other programs which are like Medifast with pre-prepared meals, Medifast is one of the most affordable. I find the cost of the food from Medifast to be equal or even a little less then what I would have spent on pre-prepared food from the market anyways. I think it is a great deal. I will actually save money on my grocery bill buying the Medifast food and I will get to lose weight! Medifast also has a option that if you choose to, you will be able to be medically supervised. This is a little more costly option, but you will meet with a doctor and have test run to check your health. Then while you are dieting you will meet each week with a dietitians who will monitor you weight loss and answer any questions you may have. This is a wonderful service that is provided for you. I have always found that if I had someone like a dietitians to check in with each week I was much more willing to stick with my diet. The only real con of this diet is that it is a little repetive. There are only so many foods that you are allowed to eat. This being said, If I lose 4 pounds a week, I am not going to complain… Overall, I find this Diet to be a great option for those who are serious about losing weight. It is affordable and convenient.
